GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide that acts as a potent ghrelin receptor agonist, stimulating growth hormone secretion from the anterior pituitary gland. It was one of the first synthetic growth hormone secretagogues developed and remains widely used in research.
Unlike the more selective Ipamorelin, GHRP-6 produces a broader hormonal response including effects on appetite stimulation, cortisol, and prolactin levels. This broader activity profile makes it valuable in research protocols examining the full spectrum of ghrelin receptor activation.
GHRP-6 is commonly studied in combination with GHRH analogues such as CJC-1295 for synergistic growth hormone release. Its strong appetite-stimulating properties have also made it a subject of metabolic and feeding behaviour research.
